To submit your film to the 44th Boston Science Fiction Film Festival, please use WithoutaBox or if you prefer, FilmFreeway.

These sites will have all the necessary info you may need for submission, including length, categories and cost. Because we are a 11 day festival our ratio of films screened to submitted films is roughly 1:3. That ratio is higher for shorts, and lesser for features. Thank you for thinking of us.

IF YOU’VE BEEN ACCEPTED

Well first of all congratulations! We look forward to screening your film, and hopefully enjoying your company. One of the first things we do is assign a Filmmaker Liaison to you. This person will contact you to answer as many of your questions as possible and assist you with your needs leading up to the festival.

Now please read the sections below dealing with Technical Requirements, accomodations and more.

Technical Requirements

Once your film has been accepted to SF44 please reach out to our technical team (link below). Our goal is to have your film shown in the best possible circumstances. With over 100 films being received, this requires a great deal of coordination. Your help will be appreciated. If you submitted a Short Film, please begin by heading over to our

Technical Team’s Page.

DELIVERING YOUR FEATURE FILM

Please review the Technical Requirements (above) before considering shipping.

For SHORTS: Please go directly to the Technical Requirements page for instructions.

For FEATURES: DCP is the preferred format with all KDM Key information provided. Your DCP must be delivered to the venue via hard drive. BluRay may be accepted, but please email bostonscifi@gmail.com to confirm. If we are able to accept your film in Blu-ray format, PLEASE SEND TWO DISCS. One is bound to not work. Please ship at least 8 business days in advance of play date. Earlier would be ideal.

The venue address is:
