44th Boston Science Fiction Film Festival
Filmmakers Tech Requirements and Delivery Instructions
The following instructions are for accepted FILM SHORTS only.
WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING ANY SHORTS IN DCP FORMAT
Congratulations on your film short's acceptance to the 44th Boston Science Fiction Film Festival! Please carefully read the instructions below on how to deliver your film short to the Festival’s Technical Director, Hal Wagner. He has designed a streamlined and comprehensive system to have your film presented at an industry grade.
If you have any questions on these instructions please contact Hal Wagner directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please use the following format for the subject line of your email: SCIFI44 / “Name of your film” / “Your Name”. With over 100 films, this will help prevent lost emails.
For all other inquiries, please contact our Filmmaker Liaison, Miriam Olken, at email@example.com.
TWO-STEP PROCEDURE FOR DELIVERY OF YOUR FILM SHORT – Read Carefully!
STEP I. PREVIEW YOUR FILM
Before sending your film short, please preview and check your film from start to finish. Please make sure that:
(1) All video frames are included, no jitter, etc.
(2) There is no 2 pop, no color bars, etc., on the head or tail.
(3) There is a black fade in, and the end fades to black (I can add black as needed).
(4) Audio and dialogue are synced to picture.
(5) Titles and credits are on the screen long enough to be read, within the frame safety margin, and font size is large enough. The audience wants to know who you are.
STEP II. USING THE GOOGLE FORM TO SEND TECH SPECS AND YOUR FILM LINK BY JANUARY 15, 2019
Completely fill in this SciFi44 Technical Specs and Film Delivery Form . At the end of the Google Form, in number 13, you will enter the link for delivering your film.
Please use one of the following delivery methods for your film: Dropbox, WeTransfer, Google Drive, or Vimeo.
We are not accepting any Shorts in DCP format.
If your film is not received by January 15, 2019, it may be subject to removal from the Festival program. Inevitably there will be issues to resolve and we will need enough time to make sure your film is shown in the best manner.
If there are any issues with your film specs or film link, Hal will contact you.
